With the development of science and technology, the requirements put forward by modern engineering construction on quality and operation efficiency is becoming higher. In the light of the errors caused by human factors in construction process and the situations which are difficult to monitor due to the harsh environment, the use of automatic total station instrument can fulfill the real-time acquisition of field observation data, Polar coordinate method used on the monitoring data processing, as well as difference correction and quasi stable adjustment which is proposed to make the result more accurate so as to achieve stable flat character monitoring purpose is discussed, and actualize the wireless data transmission by use of the program, According to the difference correction model processing the data automatically by programme, constructed the automatic monitoring system of total station instrument.This paper first started from the background of the automatic monitoring system, and introduced the domestic and foreign present development situation and application of the system in detail, According to the special environment of subway deformation monitoring expounded on the requirements of monitoring methods and the problems facing; In view of the system application object, it carried on a thorough research and analysis of the system construction and the principle. Analysis the reason of the measuring principle selection and the structure of the system; explored the program design of the system communication, comprehensively expounded the automatic acquisition and treatment flowsheet of the data, and verified it by deformation monitoring engineering instance of Beijing subway practical cases.The automatic monitoring system of total station features high speed,high accuracy, Can be unmanned operation and continuous real-time observation, Real-time data communication to make the transfer of the test data in a timely manner to the server. This paper designs a data handler, eliminating the hand calculation errors that may occur, Make the inside and outside the industry, almost completed at the same time, improve the work efficiency.
