With the rapid development of modern society and the deepening of the market economy, China has become the world's largest elevator manufacture and the seller. The elevator industry has been into the era of unprecedented prosperity. In the face of the broad prospects for development and fierce competition in industry, the efficiency and quality undoubtedly become the core competitive advantage of elevator enterprises. However, enterprises use the CAD/CAM software which is higher degree of commercialization and generalization in an important part of work for design. The software is not targeted for the professional. Therefore, it is the only way of development for a modern elevator business survival that the information and network technology used in the new product development and design.This paper mainly studied the ObjectARX application development, CAD design parameters and network design of the system in the AutoCAD environment. As a result, the vertical elevator shaft layout can achieve the intelligent design and automatic drawing. Firstly, this article not only explores the design ideas and methods of the shaft layout, but also determines the performance requirements and the overall framework of the system. Secondly, the design contents of the shaft layout are planned in detail. And the technical specifications of the hoistway graph are created. Therefore using AutoCAD ObjectARX technology develops CAD workstations. The model may achieve the specifically functions. Thirdly, the parametric design platform is built. And the parameterizations of models are quickly completed so that the design rules, experience, standards, and the drive parameters of the models are fixed to the platform. By the technology of the network database, the various of modules connect each other and the platform seamlessly interfaces with AutoCAD system. Finally, the paper develops the network design platform and tailors a common parameter input interface for the enterprise by the ASP.NET language to configure the elevator construction parameters. Any authorized users can login to the system thro ugh the network so that they could operate the elevator shaft layout to application, design, review, modify and disseminate.As a complete CAD application architecture, the vertical elevator shaft layout design system achieves the concurrent running of the multi-platform and multi-application. And the system includes many basic functions such as knowledge storage, calculation and analysis, data management and services, graphics, business communication, etc. These functions completely satisfied the new requirements in the elevator design field.
