With the development of production capability and the progress of science & technology, improving the efficiency and reducing cost of production have always been the goals of development and research in every field of industry. It is also the case for the shipbuilding industry. Particularly, ship building and design is the rapid development in china, it is increasingly urgent needing to improve the efficiency of ship's production and design to meet the needs of modern production. The division and arrange of ship cabin is an important link in the overall layout of the ship's design. In the paper, the layout simulation system of three-dimensional parameters is designed and developed, which is used to analog simulation and optimization design for the ship's accommodation space, focusing on reasonable space and ergonomics.The simulation system is based on Visual Basic6.0, and combined with the secondary development of AutoCAD VBA. It is realized the simulated layout of three-dimensional parameters of ship's accommodation space. The system is designed a simple, convenient, and friendly human-computer interaction interface, and realized the control and layout of three-dimensional parameters of the furniture units.Optimization algorithm of the "effective area" is presented to optimize the design of the ship's accommodation, from the angle of reasonable space. At the same time, from the point of ergonomics, the ship's accommodation is further optimal analyzed by the analog simulation of human body model in the ship.The simulation system realizes the functions as follow: the three-dimensional analog simulation of the ship's accommodation, as well as parameterize and simulated layout of furniture units in the ship's accommodation. Interface of the system is simple and can automatically set up three-dimensional compartment model in accordance with user requirements, while the transfer and modification of the three-dimensional furniture units can be realized by the application of the loaded VBA projects. The use of the system can reduce costs and raise efficiency of design. The research can also provide a reference for ship's simulated layout and optimization in other aspects.
