Aircraft flexible tooling technology based on automatic drilling and riveting machine is an advanced high flexible assembly technology. It has the characteristics as follows: adapting to rapid assembly and riveting of automatic drilling and riveting machine, low assembly cost, modular equipment and tool and reconfiguration. The full/half automatic drilling and riveting machines are widely used in current major aviation manufacturing enterprises, but the domestic self-developed rivet machines are relatively small. As a result of various factors of drilling and riveting machine and limited automatic drilling and riveting machine supporting tooling design system, automatic drilling riveting machine can only be used in riveting and assembly of wing panel and a few beams combination parts for specific types of fuselage, and artificial hole is still used in other types of aircraft airframe assembly, which reduces the efficiency and quality of domestic aircraft riveted joint assembly. Combined with the present situation of flexible tooling in application and design and riveting assembly process of automatic drilling and riveting machine, this paper has a research on flexible tooling design of an aircraft panel components automatic drilling riveting assembly. The primary research work of this paper is listed as follows:Based on analysis of typical panel assembly structure, positioning and clamping method of the aircraft wainscot assembly and digital assembly process of panel assembly and the process of preassembly and assembly of automatic drilling and riveting combination are studied through the division of process separating surface and design separating surface, and this paper proposes requirements of tooling design for automatic drilling and riveting machine of aircraft panel assembly finally.Based on the introduction of automatic drilling riveting machine principle and drilling and riveting process, this paper puts forward the key technology of flexible tooling for automatic drilling and riveting machine, and studies three advanced positioning methods for automatic drilling and riveting machine assembly tooling. Application of digital positioning method in a certain type of aircraft fuselage panel assembly and error analysis of advanced positioning mode of flexible tooling are discussed.Based on the overall layout and transmission scheme design of flexible tooling for automatic drilling and riveting machine, this paper studies modular design methods and principles of aircraft flexible tooling for automatic drilling and riveting machine, and realizes modular division of flexible tooling. Flexible tooling design for a certain type of aircraft fuselage panel assembly is discussed in detail, and the feasibility of the scheme is verified, through the calculation and analysis of the main structure design.Based on the integrated application of DELMIA software simulation module and CATIA DMU module, this paper accomplishes the application research of assembly and ergonomics simulation technology in the flexible technology equipment design process, and this technique finds application analysis in flexible tool design for automatic drilling and riveting machine panel assembly, which optimizes tooling design.
