From decision making to operation, urban railway transit project, both a course of physical production and a process of information generation, transformation, dispose and application, requires constant communication and cooperation of the owner units, design units, construction units, supervision units, and other construction participants to complete. The project itself is a multi-speciality and highly comprehensive system which possess not only the general information of civil engineering system but also equipment system information and extreme complicated information of circumstances. The diverse information types and huge volume of data make the project easily lead to fail in information sharing and communicating, lost information and insufficient depth of processing and utilizing, information island and so on.Recently, the more and more popular BIM is another important computer application technology after CAD in construction industry. BIM, largely enhanced construction efficiency of the program and the extent of information integration, can bring tremendous benefits to construction industry. The rise of BIM technology bring the unprecedented opportunities to urban railway transit. Its application in the whole life process of railway transit like investment, design, construction and operation can effectively improve the design and quality of the program and provide efficient and reliable data support for the later period of the program in operation and maintenance management.This paper will make a experience accumulation summary and scientific analysis of BIM modeling through the practical project(Nanchang subway line one: Bayi Square station, Bayi Bridge West station, Bayi Museum station; Nanchang subway line two: University Avenue station, Jiulong Lake South station, South Avenue of train station, XinJiaAn station, Qingshan road cross station) and propose preliminary study standard of BIM modeling in railway transit, which lay the foundation for the later application of BIM modeling in line three and line four of railway transit in Jiangxi province.
