With the development of society and the deepening of urbanization, the problem of road cleanness is getting more serious. Traditional human cleaning mode can not meet the requirements of road cleanness. The sweeper which is specially used in cleaning road has been widely used in cities because of its high efficiency and convenient characteristics. But when the traditional road sweeper is cleaning, its speed is very slow. So the operation situation of themain engine is quite poor, that means the emissions and efficiency is also very bad. The application of hybrid technology to sweeper, which could be made best use of the advantages of both technology,could overcome disadvantages of the traditional sweeper and make the hybrid sweeper more environmentally-friendly, it could lay the foundation for the development of the hybrid sweeper of China.In this paper, a traditional sweeper is redesigned into a hybrid one so that the oil consumption and emission could be reduced. The research is mainly focused on two aspects, design of hybrid sweeper powertrain system and development of control strategy. The main research work is listed in the following:(1) Current situation of hybrid sweeper truck aboard and domestic was summarized, the potential application and research significance were analysed simultaneously.(2) The structure and principle of the traditional sweeper was studied, advantages and disadvantages of different hybrid sweeper are analysed in the paper. Based on the structure and requirements of the traditional sweeper, the powertrain system for new hybrid sweeper was designed.(3) The energy requirement of the sweeper in each condition were studied. On the basis of power performance, economy and components lay out, model selection and parameter matching were accomplished and parameters of powertrain system were calculated.(4) With analyzing state of each component in transporting mode and cleaning mode, the control strategy of hybrid sweeper is designed based on the principle of the cleaning efficiency, strong power, low fuel consumption, emissions and safety(5) Based on AVL_CRUISE and Simulink co-simulation platform, the physical model of hybrid sweeper has been established. And the simulation of the hybrid sweeper based on this platform is conducted according to the actual condition of the roads sweeper. Through the comparison between simulation results and test results of the prototype sweeper, power performance and economy of the hybrid sweeper is verified.Results of the co-simulation show that the new hybrid sweeper can realize all functions of traditional sweeper, and achieve the effect of saving energy and reducing emissions. Research results of this paper will be applied to actual sweeper, and it has great potential social value.
