Embedded and Internet of things technology(LOT) is becoming more and more widely in the electric-power industry,but the design of FTU is simple and traditional.The FTU has a poor processing capacity,so it can not meet the requirements of data acquisition in transmission lines and the reliable of quality of power supply.The FTU has a pivotal role in Distribution Automation System.Data collecting and data transfer are the core function of FTU.Not only the most necessary tache,but also embodies the performance of FTU.A new types of FTU has getting a wide range of applications in power distribution field.The new FTU is a typical application of Embedded and LOT in power distribution field that it is used to solve problems above.This paper introduces a new secure design of FTU based on traditional,not only achieve its function,but also solve the problems of data transmission on the public network.Through the research of Distribution Automation System,according to the demand of field application,this paper introduces the function design of a new FTU.Based on tradition,it achieves data security transfer and convenient semi-auto.It uses Linux Os as software platforms,and with the multi-task management function of Linux,The scheduling and management of each task can be realized very well.All this make FTU greatly improved;FTU has stronger Data collecting and network communication capacity. FTU can be enable to communicate with any other what be able to communicate with the main station.This system uses SSL security communication mechanism during communication progress,so it prevent data from being stolen or damaged by unauthorized users.FTU provides powerful security function,and it can easy be emoted maintenance.This paper introduces the structural composition and software design of the intelligent FTU, and describes the design of the core subsystem including communication subsystem, the data transmission subsystem, security subsystem and debugging and maintenance subsystem. Then introduces the realization of embedded Linux development process and core subsystems, such as embedded Linux kernel transplantation and USB, Ethernet and SPI driver transplantation, and thus based details the realization of the core subsystem. Finally, this paper briefly introduced IEC104 protocol, and according to the specification of the functional modules were tested in this paper, the design of the terminal is proved to be stable data acquisition and communication function, and can maintain high, stable and reliable work.
