The Research On The Route Design Of Urban Customized Shuttle Bus

With the deterioration of urban traffic jam as well as the worsening commute situation, an inevitable trend of urban traffic sustainable development lies in the development and exploration of a diversified customized bus service mode—customized shuttle bus system. It can not only satisfy the multi-level and diversified travel demand of the passengers, but also enhance the road utilization efficiency and benefit the commuters by alleviating traffic jam in the rush hour. The study on the route design of customized shuttle bus is served as the central part of whole operation system, which is both beneficial to the advancement of its practical value and conducive to the further research and theoretical study of VRP.This thesis, to begin with, analyzes the theoretical meaning as well as practical value of study on customized shuttle bus and its route design for urban transportation and passengers' travel. Next, it will discuss the necessity and tendency of developing customized shuttle bus from the exploration of “customization” service mode at early stage to its current rapid growth. Meanwhile, as related study is comparatively rare now, the paper will reach a conclusion and solution from resource allocation, price mechanism, and station distribution, etc.. Then it will come to the summit of this study—the adopting k-means algorithm for the best choice of station through thorough consideration of its passenger categories and operation features. Fourth, It seeks out an applicable route design method for customized shuttle bus construction via an optimization model on the basis of total operating mileage, and adoption of SA(simulated annealing algorithm). Finally, the paper will verify the practicability of route design through comprehensive research and study on the High-tech Zone in Xi'an city.In general, The optimization study on the route design in this thesis can enrich and develop the customized shuttle bus system to a certain extent, provide an applicable solution and solid example for the traffic problems in other cities, and present an active support to the sustainable development of our country.
