In recent years, traffic congestion has become a prominent problem in domestic city,wherein the essence of many factors leading to traffic congestion is unbalanced traffic demand. In order to solve traffic congestion, some cities mainly lean on extension road,ignoring other factors, hence leading to unreasonable network pattern, unbalanced traffic distribution, severe congestion during peak and in urban road, meanwhile influencing the urban development and utilization. With the increase of urban land development intensity,along with traffic volume increasing in some regions, once self-designed floor area ratio exceeds the limiting value, causing large traffic congestion in that region. Therefore, it is essential to proceed a deep study the relation between traffic and urban land use.Based on the research background and significance, focusing on the urban land use status,effect of floor area ratio on traffic is analyzed, clearly pointing out the necessity of harmonious development between land use and traffic. On the basis of urban road network characteristic, defining road network volume and computing method, the restrictive relationship between road network and land use was studied; Combining urban land use and traffic influencing factor in the model, floor area ratio is chosen as development intensity index, based on traffic assignment methods of Beckmann mathematical programming,optimizing of traffic impedance function and fitting the relationship between equation solution and road residual capacity. By limiting urban land attract coefficient and based on the road capacity around and regional road network capacity, land use model was built to reflect the future bearing capacity of regional road network and then evaluate regional land use intensity. Lastly, a new district in XN city was chosen as a case to evaluate regional land use situation.Based on the land use and road network characteristics, road network capacity and floor area ration were chosen as index to evaluate the harmonious development between traffic and land use, providing theoretical support for improving urban planning and reference for solving traffic congestion, strengthening urban land use and optimizing distribution.
