With the improvement of the automation level of transformer substation,substation monitoring system need to deal with more and more information. The research of intelligent alarm system which is used to deal with the massive information and carry out fault diagnosis is of great significance. In view of the current intelligent alarm system can not complete correctness verification and testing perfectly, this paper developed a simulation platform of substation intelligent alarm. The platform can simulate all kinds of faults and protective action. Through the simulation of the message, the platform can provide a variety of alarm message that contain certain information for the intelligent warning system, to provide a reasonable and complete functional verification in the development process and provide technical support for the further improvement of the intelligent alarm system in function.This paper takes a substation in China as the prototype. The smart substation primary system simulation model is built based on PSCAD/EMTDC, and the front desk interface is built based on MFC. The data exchange between the front desk interface and the backstage simulation model is realized by programming, using the C interface and the custom module in PSCAD/EMTDC. By rewriting the component library components, the simulation of various faults in the case of the transition resistance is realized, which includes single phase grounding short circuit, two phase short circuit, two phase grounding short circuit, three phase short circuit fault,various types of transformer fault and CT or PT disconnection fault. The wave-recording module can record the analog quantity and the digital quantity in the simulation process. The measuring module can inquire the voltage and current value of a position at any time during the simulation process. According to the ledger for secondary equipment in substation, substation is equipped with corresponding types of factory of protection module, to realize the basic functions of the protection module, and the coordination between each module. According to the substation remote communication protocol of 103, this paper achieve several kind of typical information packet simulation, in accordance with the provisions of the frame format, which proves the availability of substation intelligent alarm simulation platform.
