With the increasing development of automation, electric engineering, communication and computer, modern ships have also developed into a technology of digital and automation. Monitoring and alarm system is an important part of ship automation. It can monitor the parameters of ships and the working conditions, ensuring the ship's safe operation. The information of ship in different area can be acquired, we have made a real-time and reliable system.With the reference of Kongsberg of marine automation system, considering the feature of our country's ship, adapting the highly automation of ships and the gradually strict security order, with the introduction of CAN bus, what's more, we take advantage of technology of redundancy. At the same time, with the remote communication technology, we can make the system more reliable and accurate.The system was modularized, making use of the distributed processing unit, such as PT100 thermal resistance signal acquisition module, the gas and solid concentration signal acquisition module, switching value acquisition module, electric thermal-couple signal acquisition module, current signal acquisition module and switching value output module. We can also ensure the place and the quantity of DPU according to the scale of ships. What's more, there is also the GPS technology in the system, we can get the position and the speed of the ships, ensuring the stable system. With the mature technology and the advantage such as simpleness and reliability, can read the data acquired by DPU and deal with the data. We can also achieve the remote control goal by TCP/IP, the technology of network communication.Lab VIEW is the software developed by NI, with its programming language, strong function library and abundant widget, it is easy to scheme out interface with great maneuverability and good human-machine. By utilizing Lab VIEW and some related modules, we can achieve the aim of monitoring the temperature, pressure, liquid level, position and smoke, and the system can alarm automatically. And as a result of the help of DataSocket, we can make a system with remote man-machine interaction.There are some main technology in the research of the system, such as SCM, sensor technology, wireless communication technique, GPS and virtual instrument technology. We can realize a low-cost system with less wire. It can realize the goal of monitor and alarm, and it is demonstrated in the criterion of<2006 RULE FOR THE CLASSFICATION OF SEA-GOING STEEL SHIPS>.
