Study On The Pavement Performance Of Rock Asphalt And Its Mixture

With the rapid development of China’s economy, the traffic also grows rapidly and overloadeding is quite serious always. Rutting, water damage and other early damage phenomenon of asphalt pavement are also increasingly frequent. Ordinary road asphalt has been unable to meet the performance requirements of pavement materials. As a kind of natural modifier, rock asphalt gradually getting attention and application in road construction in our country.However, pavement performance of rock asphalt modified asphalt mixture is still lack of comprehensive and systematic research. In order to further promote the application of rock asphalt modifier, we need to further research of rock asphalt in terms of reasonable dosage and construction craft.Rock asphalt four components of the test results show that compared with the ordinary road asphalt, Rock asphalt has relatively high asphaltene content and lower colloid content, oil content is slightly lower.Rock asphalt has the characteristics of large molecular weight, high softening point and strong polarity.In order to research the influence of rock asphalt dosage of modified asphalt performances, the article conducted rock asphalt modified asphalt routine test and SHRP test under a variety of rock asphalt content. The test results show that adding rock asphalt can effectively improve the performance of matrix asphalt.With the increase of rock asphalt content, the reduced temperature susceptibility of modified asphalt, enhanced temperature stability and anti-aging performance, at the same time, the low temperature crack resistance decreases. But if the rock asphalt content control in a reasonable scope, will not cause too much influence on the performance of modified asphalt low temperature anti-crack.According to the laws of the modified asphalt performance along with the change of content,the preliminary recommended rock asphalt content is 10% ~ 30%(The quality of natural asphalt and matrix asphalt percentage).Through rutting test, low-temperature bending test and freeze-thaw splitting test,The article inspection road performance of rock asphalt modified asphalt mixture, and accordingto dynamic stability and failure strain, eventually determine the reasonable rock asphalt content is 2.5% ~ 3.5%( The quality of the rock asphalt and asphalt mixture percentage).Rock asphalt modified asphalt mixture and SBS modified asphalt mixture performance contrast test shows that the rock asphalt modifier and SBS modifier with the same high temperature modification effect, and has more excellent aging resistance.The article introduces the construction process of rock asphalt modified asphalt mixture and quality control base on experimental road of Jingxi- napo expressway, and emphatically studied the mixing technology of rock asphalt modified asphalt mixture and the impact of rolling pass to compaction effect. Through the rock asphalt modified asphalt and SBS modified asphalt unit price comparison, the article analyses the economic benefits of rock asphalt modified asphalt.The results of the research provide valuable technical reference for the further application and promotion of rock asphalt.
