With the rapid development of information technology and computer, it is possible to make remote monitoring of electric power. At this stage in the industrial process, infrastructure, or equipment, the general use of SCADA on the production and transmission of power systems to monitor the process. The remote monitoring system of wind farm using SCADA is called the wind farm monitoring system which is composed of the human computer interface and some related software and hardware, which can be used in real time remote monitoring and control system.This paper presents a solution for Faku County wind farm supervisory and control system, the scheme first use OPC(object linking and embedding(OLE) for process control) technology to obtain the real-time data of the power system, and then put these data are stored in the database. Finally, through the GIS(geographic information system, GIS) technology exhibition of the whole power system real-time monitoring the situation. The system can realize the remote collection, monitoring, release and equipment control, remote fault diagnosis and system abnormal alarm of wind farm data.The design and application of centralized monitoring system for the wind farm not only provides a strong support for the scientific management of wind electric field, but also provide technical support and assistance for the futur e of wind farm monitoring system. This research shed light on the development of China wind farm remote monitoring system.
