With the rapid growth of China's economy, the social demand for power continues to increase, the contradiction between supply and demand of electricity grown ever more nervous, in order to guarantee the orderly conduct of the power supply, improve the safety and reliability of power system is particularly important. Tinkering with old substation integrated automation, which is beneficial to improve the automation level of equipment, improve the operation of the transformer substation management mode, to ensure the safety and reliability of power system, further strengthen the safety in production foundation, has the positive significance. Run QinYang substation monitoring and control system, the author of this paper is not stable, protect components ageing, no special battery compartment, microcomputer five anti blocking system fault and other issues, often from the safety, efficiency and cost, policies discussed three aspects analysis, two kinds of retrofit scheme is put forward. Solution a: intelligent substation renovation; Scheme 2: conventional mode of integrated automation substation reformation. In this paper, the two schemes from safety, efficiency and equipment of the whole life cycle cost comparison, the final option 2. Mainly for substation protection system, monitoring system, component protection and automatic device, graphics net machine, dc system and microcomputer five locking system and so on has carried on the detailed design. After completion of the renovation project, and through the QinYang new into the integrated automation system of substation operation for a period of various indexes such as power quality analysis, and aimed at before and after the transformation from the management benefit, economic benefit and social benefit, the indicators of analysis and comparison of benefit results showed that after the transformation of the substation is better than before. At the same time also by tinkering with the project company for me later in other old substation integrated automation renovation project to provide experience and reference.
