Under the background of the national strategic decision “Banding clay brick” and developing the new, green, energy-saving wall materials, Sintered shale brick successfully replaced the clay brick. Because of the distribution of shale deposition, it leads to theoretical research of sintered shale brick started lately. there is no corresponding technical specification to guiding the production and application, which has hindered the development of shale brick industry in practical engineering, the Guangxi University of science and technology organization "sintered shale brick building technical regulations", which success of the project of Guangxi science and Technology Department of the project(Guangxi Science and technology research project 0861001-7). Experimental study on basic mechanical properties of sintered shale brick masonry of the circular hole is started.The new national standard "fired perforated brick and block"(GB13544-2011) formally implemented on April 1, 2012, one of the mainly changes is canceling the circular hole and the other hole, formulating rectangular hole brick, at present, the domestic shale sintered brick and its masonry for the rectangular hole on little. With the complete compilation of the procedure of "technical specification for building of fired perforated brick" and "technical specification for building of fired perforated brick " promotion, in this paper, the experimental study on mechanical properties of sintered shale brick masonry rectangular hole.This paper focuses on the following aspects of the rectangular hole sintered shale brick:1. Through the experiment research on compressive strength of masonry axial failure characteristics, analysis of masonry and masonry compressive strength values obtained; through the regression analysis of experimental data, combined with the standard, the rectangular hole sintered shale brick masonry compressive strength suggest expression.2. Fitting the target of masonry stress-strain data, get the target of masonry constitutive curve segment expression; through the processing of the test data, put forward the target of masonry elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio calculation formula recommended values, analysis of masonry elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio with the change trend of load.3. Through the experimental study on shear behavior of masonry walls, analysis of masonry shear failure characteristics, the shear strength of rectangular holes, and puts forward the calculation formula of sintered shale brick masonry walls shear strength; analysis of positive effects to improve the bonding mortar in the masonry shear strength.Basing on the test results, this paper explored the fundamental mechanical properties of sintered shale brick masonry of the rectangular hole, which provides the theoretical basis for preparation of “technical specification for building of fired perforated brick “and " technical specification for building of fired perforated brick" promotion, in order to preferably guide the practical application and promotion.
