Research On Database Design Of Architectural Landscape Of Villages And Towns In Cold Regions

Recently, the concern on rural construction and improvement is rising, and the facilities and living environment in Chinese countryside is improved in this period. Also, the landscape features of countryside have been changed. However, in this process the cultural and formal features of countryside are also homogenized, which is detrimental to the diversity of countryside cultures. Hence, it is crucial to construct an integrated landscape planning-management platform which is based on database to conserve the landscape features of countryside in cold regions.Moreover, the limits in terms of economy, geography, climates in cold regions also restrict the development of ecologicalization in countryside in such regions. Therefore, it is significant to take the advantage of database analysis for applying the guide rules, measurements and index in the construction and regeneration of rural areas.This dissertation is generally based on theories on rural landscapes and database technology. Firstly, it reviews and summarizes the research on rural landscapes, theories of database design, construction of rural landscape databases. Next, a field investigation which covers 8 towns and 17 countries in cold regions was implemented to understand the architectural features in these places and construct the framework of landscape features. Furthermore, this research summarizes the elements which play roles in the construction of characte ristic rural landscape and provides relevant guide rules from the perspective of developing ecologicalization. Finally, database design techniques are applied to construct the rural architectural landscape database involving data structure, data extraction, restricted guiding approaches, data encoding and input and data application. In additional, a series measures are applied to analyse the selection of landscape data and design operation UI and calculating approaches.As a comprehensive platform, the cold-region rural architectural landscape database provides a variety of functions including landscape data input, inquiry, planning analysis, which can give significant references on landscape management and control. Therefore, it can provide technical support on rural architectural landscape planning and management, which is definitely beneficial to the ecologicalization of rural landscape.
