With LED lighting technology continues to mature, the highway tunnel LED lighting has been widely used, but the design of highway tunnel LED lighting is still using the HPS method, using circuit switch to control the brightness of the tunnel LED lighting, this method ignores continuous dimming features. Therefore, we can rely on the continuous dimming characteristics of LED lamps and design a reasonable and effective control system. This reduces energy consumption of tunnel and saves for the distribution loop cable of tunnel.This paper first illustrated the present situation of the highway tunnel lighting system and detailed the system design and control of the high pressure sodium lamp lighting and LED lighting. Through simulation analysis, we could obtain the configuration and the layout scheme of LED lamps under the requirements of design brightness. Then analyzed the problem of loop control and high pressure sodium, they were second startup for a long time and not continuous dimming. So this paper used PWM digital signal transmission to control LED lamp brightness flexible dimming control and Constituted LED Flexible dimming control system. It proposed the corresponding control program, the fortified lighting changed with the change of outer tunnel brightness which is based data collection of detector and basic lighting dimming was controlled using a fixed value. And LED flexible dimming control system built with.net framework 4.0 as the software platform, MSSQL2008 database back-end data system support.Finally the field test and the evaluation of energy conservation were conducted, results showed that parameters such as brightness, uniformity conformed to the design specifications, power saving effect was obvious, and this met the demands of highway tunnel operation management.
