Research On The Technical Standards And Route Plan Of G201 Extension Project From Linkou To Xiangyang

The road section of Linkou to Xiangyang in G201 is one of the Vertical lines in Linkou, which has “two vertical and one horizontal” backbone highway network. In these years, Linkou socio-economic and urban construction developed fast, the overall strength is rising, which irritated rapid growth of transportation demand in county, road traffic has doubled. But existing backbone highway has problems like low road grade and small capacity, resulting in road traffic jams have occurred in area, which became a bottleneck restricting social and economic sustainable development in Linkou. So, expansion project of Linkou to Xiangyang section in G201 has significant meaning to meet rapidly growing traffic demand and protect sustainable economic development in Linkou.This paper analyzed the socio-economic current situation and integrated transportation system present situation in the impact area of G201 expansion project, and predicted its' trends, demonstrated the status and role of G201 expansion project in the region's road network. Based on survey datum, the transportation characteristics within the impact area were got, considering socio-economic development demand, the future traffic demand of G201 expansion project was predicted by the direct method and elastic coefficient method.Based on traffic prediction results, considering the local factors of topographic, geologic conditions and urban planning, the technical standards of G201 expansion project from Linkou to Xiangyang was preparated, and the program of origin, destination and routs were proposed. Then, its cross-engineering, traffic engineering and facilities along were designed.This paper made a comprehensive evaluation of G201 expansion project from the aspect of energy conservation, land use, social, environmental and economic. Aimed to the adverse effects possibly of G201 expansion project, improvement measures were proposed. The result of comprehensive evaluation showed that the G201 expansion project from Linkou to Xiangyang was feasible.
