At present, sulfur fumigation technique in the process of Chinese herbal medicine is still repeated, the sale of Chinese herbal medicine still exist the phenomenon that sulfur residues exceeding the standard. But there are few reports on the rapid identification device of the portable sulfur smoked Chinese herbal medicine. Basing on visible and near infrared spectroscopy technology, this article developed a portable rapid detection device for Chinese herbal medicine.The characteristic absorption peak of sulfur smoked Chinese herbal medicines in 715 nm and 835 nm, which was proved by the previous work, was verified. Identification of sulfur absorption peak wavelength spectrum by PLASUS SPECLINE software and found 716 nm and 839 nm can also be identified as the characteristic absorption spectrum. The preparation time of the sample extract was also reduced from 2 h to 45 min.On the basis of the preliminary test platform, two kinds of optimization schemes with low power consumption are designed. The light source, constant current drive circuit and the power supply of the device are optimum designed, which make up a complete testing device. The main work is reflected in: by increasing the power source section DC / DC converter module, so that when the battery terminal voltage changes in a wide range can maintain a constant supply voltage which improves the utilization of the electrical energy of the battery pack. By setting the optical path of the convergent lens, improve the utilization of tungsten-halogen light source, so that power from the original 35 W halogen lamps is reduced to 20 W, extend the life of lithium batteries work time. Set into the light aperture so that it can reduce the interference of stray light. Design of constant current drive power supply, load regulation rate and voltage regulation rate are better than 0.1%. Based on the improved design scheme of reducing the power of the tungsten lamp, the design of the second plane discussed the selection of LED as the light source. The actual verified the peak wavelength of 700 nm, the peak width at half wavelength range for 680 nm ~ 720 nm LED light source can be used for judging the sulfur fumigation herbs 715 nm absorption peak.The experiment use the device for the detection of four samples of Dangshen and six samples of wolfberry to test the application of the device. The detection results showed that five of them were sulfur smoked one were not sulfur smoked, and the four were not obvious. The test results showed that the device can be used for field testing of sulfur smoked herbs.
