On The Landscape Renovation Design Of The Cangzhou Section Of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal

Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the world's longest ancient canal with the largest engineering. It was excavated at the earliest time and has been a manual navigable waterway lasted for the longest time for using. Cangzhou section of the canal is located in the north of the grand canal and directly flow to the Beijing and Tianjin, connecting the Kyoto and Jiangnan town, playing an important role in the Ming and Qing dynasties. This canal leads to Beijing and Tianjin, connecting the capital and cities of Jiangnan, it is an important section of the navigable canal. Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has witnessed the development and progress of its surrounding cities in the history, forming a strong culture of the Grand Canal. Today, the canal culture has left a lot of valuable wealth to the descendants of China, forming a unique folk culture system of the canal.Historical data is reviwed for this paper to master and know systematacially the production and development of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, then the landscape status and problems exposed in the pre-transformation process of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal-Cangzhou are analyzed, and new reconstruction design is made for these issues. Learn from the successful cases of Beijing river reconstruction, and apply the merits effectively to the landscape reconstruction designs of Cangzhou Canal.Make innovation and transformation in the existing landscape space. Retain some ancient monuments, re-plan unreasonable or unclear functional areas. Blend the local geographical characteristics and folk culture into the design, to create a canel river landscape full of cultural characteristics, inheriting culture, and allowing people to get close to it and participate in.The article is divided into four parts. In the first chapter,it makes an overview of the forming background and historical development of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. In the second chapter, it analyses the the current status of the Grand Canal-Cangzhou segment through field research. In the third chapter, it makes analysis of the actual cases of the transformation of the urban river and summarizes the successful experience and deficiency, thus putting forward an optimizing strategy for the landscape innovative design of Cangzhou section of canal. In the fourth chapter, through analyzing the architectural features,facility characteristics and cultural characteristics of the Grand Canal Cangzhou, it explores Cangzhou regional characteristics and cultural connotations and integrates them into the landscape design,and makes specific analysis and explanation of the design process and modification measures.
