After entering 21st century , along with the development of city and step by step upgrading replacement of estate, cities in Jiangsu section of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal are all carrying out the program construction of canal bank environmental landscape, however under the background of globalization, facing cultural pressure of becoming the same and the grand canal with accumulation of two-thousand–year history culture, how to protect the culture and traditional value of the canal bank, how to preserve the history and cultural tradition of the city, how to melt and embody cultural characteristic in canal landscape program, have become the significant program of the academic circle.Based on investigation of Jiangsu section of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, referring to many domestic and international typical cases, applying theory of region culture, historical culture legacy and waterfront planning and other related theories to deeply analyze related city canal landscape planning, this paper discusses and constructs the culture expression of canal landscape planning.Paper mainly includes the following contents: Introduce the research background, content and methods; the concept of culture, landscape and landscape planning and the present situation of domestic landscape planning; analyze the landscape culture of Jiangsu section of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and summarize several problems in landscape planning; related Theory Research and Planning Practice; expression in Landscape Planning.Combining related theory research and exploration of realistic problem, the paper tries to propose concept and design techniques of landscape planning based on humanism concept for canal bank area to preserve and continue the historical and cultural legacy of bank area under urbanism and globalization.
