Study On Abnormal Flight Optimal Scheduling

For airlines, an optimal flight plan is a key part to improve margins and reduce costs.Making a flight plan consists of two parts: one is the initial flight plan designing, another part was flight plan redesigning when air flight delays. Both of the two-part process and algorithm optimization strategy is given.Initial flight planning is essentially a matching optimization of flight resources(aircrafts and flights). The optimal target is lowering down the flight cost. In order to solve the flight resources matching problem, it needs to make an appropriate mathematical model. The main research work of this paper is listed as follows:Firstly, we propose a reasonable flight cost estimating system which used to estimate delay cost of every participants in the flight process. The cost estimation methods can be used as a basis for subsequent evaluation of modeling.Secondly, we proposed a flights bunches transfer matrix based matching model with delay cost. After analyzing the scheduling model of flight, we found it the same as "Travel Salesman Problem with Relay Node", which we choose Ant Colony algorithm as the flight scheduling solving algorithm. Simulation is based on some northern airlines data to verify the effectiveness of flight scheduling algorithm using Ant Colony algorithm which results show that the proposed algorithm is valid.Thirdly, abnormal Flight scheduling is a real-time flight scheduling problem. As the scheduled resource is so much, real-time scheduling optimal algorithm is not very useful in all scenario. We propose a hierarchical processing algorithm to solve the re-scheduling problem based on different flight delay range and general delay cost estimation. The simulation shows that the algorithm is valid in different delay range scenarios.
