A Research About The Development Characteristics And Planning Measures Of Mountainous Townships In Hubei Province

Township is an important part of the existing urban system. Healthy development of the township, the "grass-roots power" of entire provincial urbanization, has great influence on constructing an organic medium and small towns, coordinating and balancing development of urban space network systems. At the same time, as the "end of the city, the head of the village", the township is the main carrier of the development in the rural economy. Also, Rural economy is the new integrated point of urban and rural economies. To develop township is an important measure to attract the development of rural surplus labor force in rural areas,expand domestic demand. It is not only the most dynamic new growth point to speed up local economic development, but also the need to link the urban and rural, the city with rural, speed up social and economic development. However, from a practical point of view, there is still a shortage of township development in many parts. Township is falling into decay now, and development issues may be more complex and pluralistic.China has a vast different township development in diverse regions, such as the Eastern, Central place and Western. Different types of towns are also quite different, such as mountain towns, plains towns, suburban cities and towns. This study focuses on the development of mountain towns in Hubei Province. With the policy of “New National Urbanization” and “Development of Industrialization, IT application, Urbanization and Agricultural Modernization”, what role will the township play in deepening the process of urbanization? What is the status of mountain villages and towns, its structure in terms of population, industry, land, society has the kind of features?
