The efficiency of airline luggage service has a strong influence on both the quality of travel and management standard of airport. On this occasion, self-service baggage checking system is a good choice for people to check their baggage in a short time. This paper depends on “Project of Chinese civil aviation administration's science and technology fund ”, bases on the defect of luggage transmission system and focuses on analyzing the problem on overall structure,luggage volume inspection, recognition of identity information, control of luggage transmission and relevant issues.The main contents of the dissertation are as follows:Firstly, according to the functions and requirements of the use conditions of self-service baggage checking system, we did the design of both system structure and appearance of machine. The structure fitted in with our condition, thus ensuring the widely use of the system in all airports in our country.Secondly, in view of the uncertainty of luggage volume inspection, A specifications detection of baggage method based on finite state automata theory is built. We marked the baggage from throw-in to received time, formed a kind of extended finite state machine and made the luggage volume dynamic inspection become true.Thirdly, through the analyzing defect of the luggage label detection system, we advanced a project of composite label scanning which can be finished during the transmission process.This project can make the efficiency of the system greatly increased. We also added more RFID identify modules to remedy the defects. Through combining the original laser scanning method and the RFID, the recognition rate of whole system will increase to no less than 99%.Finally, by means of analyzing the features of luggage system and baggage sorting system, we advanced a sharing transmission control strategy, which can satisfy the demands of both self-service check and human check. We also designed a kind of hardware circuit to control the transmission system and self-help luggage transmission control algorithm based on Petri net. The experiments results show that the control method is efficient and reliable in the uncertain environment.
