Nowadays,the new and reinforcement of structure are both important of construction industry in China.And at the same time,structure reinforcement set up a new tendency for existed building.while application of BRB to reinforce existed building is an effective new method.As the name implies,buckling restraint brace can avoid the problem that brace can buckling under the earthquake.BRB supplies the same strength of compression and tension,and so BRB can dissipate earthquake energy when it yield under the reciprocating earthquake.With the dissipation of energy,the BRB can be the first seismic line in order to protect the main components of the building.In this article,through an actual need to be reinforced frame structure,article analysis earthquake resistant behavior of the ordinary steel brace scheme and BRB scheme.The results show that under frequent earthquake,the ordinary brace can offer more lateral stiffness than BRB,while it is at the cost of bigger section;under the seismic design level,several ordinary steel braces deactivate cause those braces is buckling.its earthquake resistant behavior is less than BRB's.However,the two kinds of reinforcement schemes are still better than original structure and they both meet the requirements of specifications;under rare earthquake,the ordinary steel scheme's seismic resistant behavior is close to original structure due to the most number of steel brace and quit job and they doesn't meet the requirement of specification.while the BRB scheme shows better seismic resistant behavior because it can yield under the rare seismic and it can dissipate the earthquake energy..Through time history analysis and static nonlinear analysis,get the buckling in the seismic strengthening aspects than ordinary steel support has obvious advantages.
