Building Information Modeling is a new technology in the field of computer aided architectural design in recent years.It takes the information data of the construction project as the foundation of the model to build a highly integrated and complete information model of the construction project.With the development of modern architecture,the application of BIM in the constru-ction field has been paid more and more attention.The particularity of steel structure engineering,such as various component types,complex node connection,high industrializa-tion degree and so on,makes that there are many phenomena which are not in conformity with the actual situation in design of the steel structure.While after the introduction of BIM,problems in the construction design drawings which are not easy to be aware of can be found and corrected before construction.It reduces rework,and shortens the construc-tion period.At the same time,in order to meet large space steel structure's requirements of safty,specific shape and stress,we must control the whole process of construction.The BIM construction simulation is a safe and reliable premise to ensure construction's safety,and it is an important part of the construction control system.Therefore the application of BIM software for the construction of project simulation research has practical value.Through viewing the construction simulation process and the whole model of roaming,we can reasonably arrange a project's time limit,the equipment and personnel's import and export in order to make the construction more standardized.In this paper,we study the following aspects combined with the actual engineering project of Harbin to Dalian railway passenger dedicated line Yingkou station:1)Steel structure and concrete structure are modeled with BIM software.2)Through the comparison with BIM model and traditional design,the role of BIM technology in the design optimization for steel structure joints is studied.3)The model optimized is analyzed by 3D3S,to ensure its safety and reliability.4)The Navisworks Manage software is used to simulate the installation process of the steel truss and realize the visual management of the construction process.
