| Wuchang city with 1800 years of long history,locates in the intersection of Yangtze river and Han river.It has traditionally been the important military barrier and political center due to its prominent geographical location,easy transportation,and superior natural environment;meanwhile,it owns a wealth of precious historical sites and multicultural features;therefore,it is the core area in Wuhan city.In the late 1990 s,as the old-city-rebuilding movement carried out,most of historic districts suffered destruction and disappeared.The historical culture is hard to be inherited and developed.From 2000 till now,the government started to protect historical blocks,but it is difficult to adapt to rapid urban development,due to traditional and lagging protective methods and relatively narrow protective coverage.In order to promote modernization construction of Wuchang,the historical districts need to be protected and renewed actively,which make them the organic part of urban development;so that,ancient city vitality in Wuchang can be achieved.This paper takes three historical streets in north end of old Wuchang as research objects and employs some research methods such as literature review,field research,and induction and deduction to overview status of historical streets protection and renewal in China and abroad,and relevant dynamic protection theories.In addition,it summarizes the methods of dynamic protection and renewal in the macro,medium and micro level.Secondly,it sums up characteristics of old Wuchang and related planning policies;moreover,it explores the renewal for historical districts in north end of old Wuchang and conservation status;and then it concludes the existing problems.Lastly,the paper considers Tanhualin district,Nongjiangsuo district,and Hubu lane as cases to propose more specific protection and reconstruction strategies from the aspect of city,district and building by utilizing dynamic protection concept. |
