With the development of economic level,measurement of energy consumption and the continuous improvement of intelligent management's requirements,as well as the improvement of electric power system,the traditional manual meter reading method can not adjust itself to meet the new requirements of the electric power system development,the centralized meter reading system which takes the smart meter,concentrator and master station as cores integrates electronic technique,communication technology,and computer and other related technologies,it has become a hot technology because of low error rate,high efficiency and so on.To realize the centralized collection of smart meters,using concentrator to finish the transmission and storage of electricity information,the concentrator which is the most important part of the centralized meter reading system has a hug market demand,and its research value is also great.First,the development status of the centralized meter reading system in China and in broad,and its trend of development in the future have been analysed in detail firstly in this design.Further introducing the whole frame of the centralized meter reading system,through elaborating the principle of concentrator,explaining its importance in meter reading system.According to the related requirements of concentrator bidding in state grid,analyzing system requirements and putting forward software and hardware design scheme of the concentrator system.The paper uses ARM(STM32)chip which has high performance as the master of whole to the concentrator,and GPRS communication and infrared communication as well as 485-RS bus communication are used as the main communication modes.The hardware system consists of the module of clock,the module of infrared communication,GPRS network terminal,Ethernet module and power supply module.Thesoftware system consists of uplink and downlink communication processing modules,the uplink communication processing module mainly includes the design and establishment of GPRS and infrared communication mode,the downlink communication processing module mainly includes the realization of automatic meter reading task.Finally,by setting up the hardware experiment platform,through the experiment of concentrator connected with the master station and the experiment of automatic meter reading,realizing the smart meter's function of data reading,and completing the concentrator's functional testing.This paper provides the design method and experimental method for the concentrator of centralized meter reading system,and provides a foundation for promoting the wide application of smart grid.
