Microscopic simulation of pedestrian flows is systematic and complex.In different traffic conditions,pedestrian interaction with external environment is also different.With the expansion of urban city scale and complexity of pedestrian environment in China,pedestrian safety issues become increasingly prominent.Since the simulation of pedestrian flows is important to optimization of pedestrian flow organization and transport facilities,therefore many scholars in traffic area dedicated to studying pedestrian flow.On the basis of domestic and international achievements,the paper analyze characteristics of pedestrian in urban rail transit station environment when pedestrian turns in turning region and pedestrian overtakes other pedestrians in straight passageway,the Social Force Model is improved in order to reproduce the turning and overtaking behaviors of pedestrians in rail transit stations.Simulations based on the present and modified model are carried out and contrasted using the MATLAB software.Under the passageway condition of Xi Zhi Men and Chong Wen Men rail transit station,the paper simulates pedestrian flows when pedestrian turns in turning region and pedestrian overtakes other pedestrians in straight passageway by modified model,and test the effect of the modified model.The following components are involved:(1)Under the passageway condition of Xi Zhi Men and Chong Wen Men rail transit station,four characteristics of the turning behavior in turning region and overtaking behavior in straight passageway are concluded as follows:1)the beginning and end point of a pedestrian in turning region and the distance between pedestrian and sweeping or inflexion are in direct ratio.2)The pedestrian dedicates to shorten the journey when turning.3)The changing process of pedestrian's speed includes deceleration and acceleration.4)In unidirectional pedestrian flow,when a pedestrian wants to overtakes the pedestrian in front,he would take actions with adequate space demand and shortest walking distance.(2)On the basis of characteristics of the pedestrian when turning,the paper improves the model of Charitha.The modifications are as follows:1)For the model of Charitha,removing the formula of centrifugal force and giving the formula of gravitation by calibrating the parameter kattractive.2)To describe the changing process of pedestrian's speed,Adding partition function to the model of Charitha.(3)Consider of pedestrian's characteristics when a pedestrian wants to overtake the pedestrian in front,the paper improves the part of the Social Force Model.The following components are involved:1)According to the act of pedestrian's preferred some space that can content himself and shortest distance,Adding the function that describes the act of pedestrian selecting the temporary goal.2)Replacing the desired force with bending force Ftur and calibrating the parameter Ktur in order to authentically describe the overtaking behavior.(4)Under the condition of Xi Zhi Men and Chong Wen Men rail transit station,the paper combines the improved model by MATLAB to simulate the unidirectional turning pedestrian flow,bidirectional turning pedestrian flow and the unidirectional pedestrian flow that pedestrians go straight and test the effect of modified model.
