With the rapidly development of our Chinese economy,the automobile manufacturing industry acquire an opportunity to high-speed developed.However,the automobile consume a lot of resources and energy,and discharges large amounts of pollutants during its life cycle(from raw material acquisition,manufacturing to the recycling).This leaping development of automobile has led to resource shortages and environmental problems,which hinder the sustainable development of our Chinese economy.In addition,the design of automobile has to consider how to improve the design efficiency and cut down the cost for response to market competition.Therefore,it is necessary for the sustainable development of automobile industry to taking the environmental performance and the design efficiency into consideration during its design phase.This paper presented a low-carbon design method which integrated life cycle assessment with CAD design software,achieved the real-time environmental performance assessment during the product designing and feedback the evaluation results and design suggestions to guiding the optimized design.It is beneficial to promoting the green development of the automotive industry.The detail contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the paper analyzed the life cycle carbon emission characteristics of automobile components based on life cycle theory,identified its source of carbon emissions.Secondly,the quantitative method of carbon emission is proposed and the life cycle carbon emission quantitative model of automobile components is established.Thirdly,the method to identified carbon emission optimization potential of components is put forward,and established a feedback mechanism of evolution result and low-carbon design suggestion.Then,the key technologies(Creo re-development technology,CAPP technology,etc.)for LCA/CAD integrated are studied.Finally,based on the above theoretical studies,the low-carbon design integrated system is developed to support low-carbon design of automotive parts,and take the engine as an example to verify the effectiveness of the integrated system.
