NVH performances are the essential requirement of a modern automobile.In order to achieve this goal,it is necessary to put forward the detailed NVH performances of the relevant models.Static and dynamic stiffness,also modal parameters of body in white(BIW)are essential reference indexes.To improve the NVH performance of a developing vehicle,the benchmark vehicle BIW performances tests about NVH were conducted,the subsequent analysis of modal and stiffness simulation was based on the prototype vehicle finite element model and the prototype vehicle torsional stiffness test verified the accuracy of the model.It is clear about the benchmarking process and methods of vehicle body by the benchmark vehicle and prototype vehicle test and its model analysis.According to the benchmarking test,we got benchmarking vehicle BIW torsional stiffness,bending stiffness and the first order torsional and bending modal frequency,and gathered some vehicles' body NVH simulation performances.CAE studies and its finite element analysis method have applied mostly in NVH analysis,with softwares operating process are simple and easy.In the design verification phase,it should determine the simulation calculation of performance indexes first.According to torsional stiffness test data,this paper verified the simulation results with its finite element model,and simulated the stiffness and modal performances of prototype vehicle.By contrast the simulation results,prototype vehicle torsional stiffness and the first order modal frequency is lower than the benchmarking vehicle.By comparing the performance parameters of similar vehicles,we put forward the performance goals of the developing model.This paper redesigned the positions and numbers of tail door welds and optimized the torsional stiffness and 1st torsional mode frequency of prototype vehicle.In the body design,to the larger body size,local modal and its lower resonant frequency are appearing much easier,so planning the whole vehicle modal is necessary.Accurate analysis of the prototype is body development reference;the correct modeling analysis is the technical support of performance design.Based on benchmarking test and analysis,optimize the design of prototype vehicle BIW.It has improved the performances of NVH of BIW,also reduced the development cycles and costs.
