Under The Background Of The Old Industrial Base Of The Urban Spatial Form Evolution Research

The urban industry has significant influence on the urban form. The expansion of urban space cannot be realized without the development of the urban industry. The economy is the lifeblood of the urban area, and the industry is the foundation of the economy. The development of the modern industry is inseparable from major industrial projects, and the expansion of industrial space further boosts the expansion of urban space. Therefore, it is of great value and significance to study the cities developed from industrial projects. Tonghua is a city grew from the iron and steel industry. Studying and summarizing the evolution of the urban form of Tonghua presents practical and historical significance to the transformation development of other similar cities with old industrial bases.In this paper, the evolution of the spatial form of Tonghua was taken as the research object. From macro-perspective, vertical comparison was adopted to divide the evolution of Tonghua and industrial development process into five stages, and the situations of each period were analyzed and summarized. From meso-perspective,horizontal comparison was adopted to analyze the characteristics of the spatial evolution of Tonghua from five aspects, namely economic development, spatial structure, ecological environment, population structure, and transportation infrastructure, based on which the dynamic mechanisms of the evolution of urban form were summed up. From micro-perspective, space syntax was adopted to draw the road network of Tonghua in the three development stages into space syntax axis model graph. Through analyzing the integration and coordination of the road network,the influence of the industrial land on urban form and the evolution law of the spatial form of Tonghua were revealed. Finally, the evolution mode of urban form was summarized and the future development trend of urban form was analyzed. Further discussion was made on the optimizing strategies for the space layout,the industrial structure, the traffic organization and the ecological system of Tonghua, based on which the development strategies for the transformation development of other similar cities with old industrial bases were proposed.This study was made to make quantitative analysis on the evolution characteristics and law of the urban form of Tonghua and explore the evolution trend of cities with old industrial bases. At the same time, analysis was also made on the influencing factors and dynamic mechanism for the evolution of the urban apace of Tonghua from macro-perspective to micro-perspective to propose proper future development strategies and provide theories and methods for the future space development of cities with old industrial bases.
