Asphalt in asphalt concrete are prone to aging by the sunshine,rain and snow,oxygen,wheel rolling and other factors.Asphalt phase often changes from the sol to the gel type after the aging process,and its adhesion stress for stone material decreases gradually.Asphalt pavement maintenance technology could restore the loss of components in the aged asphalt,which greatly extends the asphalt pavement life.This paper developed a Fog Seal Material?FSM?for asphalt pavement,which provides a solution for road conditions requiring fast-open traffic such as airport runway and viaduct.The quick drying FSM consists of a regeneration seal part and a coating seal part.First,the composition of the asphalt rejuvenator used in the regeneration seal part was analyzed and researched by GPC,13C-NMR and FT-IR.The dissolution parameters of the main functional groups were obtained by calculation.According to the group contribution method and Hansen solubility parameter theory,the alcohol and co-solvent system with excellent solubility of the asphalt rejuvenator were screened out.The formulation of the regeneration seal was optimized by ternary mixed phase diagram,and the performance of regenerated part was evaluated.The five-day stability of the regeneration seal part could reach 2%or less,and the aged asphalt could be regenerated to the standard of 50A asphalt after the infiltration of the regeneration seal part for 6 h.Secondly,the asphalt component of the surface coating was investigated and improved.The influence of the addition of different emulsifying stabilizers on the stability of the emulsified product was researched.The preparation process of the coating was optimized.The effects of inorganic stabilizer and organic stabilizer on the preparation process of emulsification were studied.Results showed that guar gum was more effective than other additives.Under the optimized conditions,the coating emulsion stability could reach less than 5%,and the oil droplet diameter in the water phase was less than 10?m.Finally,the quick drying FSM was subjected in a 250 kg/h pilot-scale experiment machine,the pilot production could meet the standard of JTGE20-2011.The quick drying FSM was applied to the Shanghai North-South Highway Wenshui section,Lv Lian road in Minhang District,respectively.Good maintenance effects were obtained successfully.
