The old Cheeloo University was a famous university of modern China,it was one of the thirteen Christian Universities of the old China,modern architectural group of Cheeloo University is located in Lixia District of Jinan in Shandong Province,it concludes the modern architectures of the old Cheeloo University,the medical college of Cheeloo University and the subsidiary hospital,the buildings were built i n early twentieth Century.As the modern architectural group of "Chinese and Western" style,they retain the style of Chinese traditional architectures and Western modern architectures,they mix the essence of Chinese and Western architectures,witnessed the development of Christian Universities,embody the campus planning and the construction concept of modern times,they have high historical,artistic,and scientific value,worth our study.This paper treat the brick buildings of the modern architectural group of old Cheeloo university as the object of study,collecting data of modern architectures in international magazines and the books,studying the brick buildings and the masonry methods;via the mapping,studying from the style of the building to the facade,and then the details of the building,concluding the usual masonry methods of the facade and the details,to support the protection and repairing and recycling of the extant modern architectures.It is not the purpose to study the brick buildings of the modern old Cheeloo University,and to conclude the usual masonry methods of modern brick architectures,but I hope to provide better schemes of protection and repairing of the brick buildings of old Cheeloo University,and to provide some data for the protection and repairing of other moderm brick buildings,and to be useful for the following scholar.
