A Post-occupancy Evaluation Study On The Old Library Of Wuhan University

Wuhan University began at the foundation of Ziqiang new school by Zhang Zhidong in 1893.Since then,the school has set a room for students reading.Later,after a long period of development,until 1935 Luojia mountain new school building completed,the school in many efforts to fall into a space stream organization to meet the modern function of a library which is called the old library of Wuhan University today.It has been in use since its inception.After a large-scale renovation of the old library in 2012,the library filled with new fuction such as school history museum and a lecture hall,has been used for nearly three years.On the basis of the interpretation of the history and design of the old library,investigating the current situation and the use of the protection and repairing the present situation,this paper takes the user’s perspective as the main conserderation to evaluate the building itself,the internal space and the surrounding environment with scientific analysis methods.The post-occupancy evaluation of the old library of Wuhan University is based on the reality and combined with the relevant classical theory and scientific research methods,and strive to achieve the objective and perfect investigation results.The first part of this article combs the development of the protection and re-use of historical buildings at home and abroad,the maturing process of post-evaluation theory and the research status of Wuhan University’s old library.The second part of the content is mainly from the historical point of view of Wuhan University old library construction origin,design characteristics and protection and reuse of the status quo and analysis,for the subsequent evaluation process to make an important bedding.The third part is the establishment of the post-evaluation framework of the old library in Wuhan University.The establishment of the evaluation system in this paper combines the historical evaluation of historical buildings,the basic methods of post-evaluation and the characteristics of the building itself,and puts forward the historical and cultural elements,Elements of the three aspects of the building to evaluate the various parts.The fourth part is the specific implementation process of evaluation,this paper uses field records,questionnaires,interviews and user behavior observation and other methods to conduct a detailed investigation.The process of implementation combines objective data collection with the subjective evaluation of the user to complement each other to achieve a more accurate evaluation of the results.The last part is a summary of the post-evaluation of the old library.Based on the previous survey results,this paper makes a comprehensive evaluation of the present situation of the protection and reuse of the main use of the building space,and analyzes some of the commonalities in the analysis results Problem,from the history of readability and inheritance,spatial model and functional fit,building performance and sustainable development of three aspects of specific improvements to the proposal.The study of the case of old library in Wuhan University is of practical significance,and it also brings feedback to the adaptability and rationality of historical building reuse design.The protection and re-use of historical buildings is a gradual and gradual process.The scientific and comprehensive analysis of post-evaluation methods is helpful to discover the problems in the design and operation and management of repair and maintenance,so as to better improve the future Protection and construction.
