Investigations On The Barrier Free Facilities In Guangzhou Central City

As the main space of outdoor activities,urban parks are the main places for the city residents to walk into and feel the nature.However,at the beginning of the construction of most urban parks,many of them are based on the needs of the healthy people’s activities,and the special needs of the vulnerable groups,such as the elderly,the disabled,the children and so on,are seldom taken into account.Even if some of the parks increase the barrier-free facilities,the design is not very good to meet the size of the vulnerable groups,there are still some obstacles for the vulnerable groups in the urban parks.Therefore,in the process of urban parks construction,we need to take into account the needs of vulnerable groups and increase the barrier-free facilities.This study takes 8 parks in central Guangzhou as the research objects,including Yuexiu Park,Liuhuahu Park,Liwanhu Park,Guangzhou Cultural Park,Xiaogang Park,Haiyin Park,Zhujiang Park and Tianhe Park.First of all,based on the theory of human engineering,environmental psychology and behavioral science,this paper analyzes the needs of vulnerable groups in the park through the form of questionnaire and interview.Secondly,by using the method of field investigation,this paper makes a concrete analysis of the five aspects of the construction of barrier-free facilities,such as entrances and exits,road traffic,garden buildings and structures,public facilities,identification and information facilities.Finally,the paper sums up the advantages and disadvantages of the present situation of the construction of barrier-free facilities in central Guangzhou,and puts forward some suggestions on the basis of the characteristics of the vulnerable groups.The main conclusions are as follows:The number of barrier-free toilets in the park of central city is generally less and internal facilities are not standardized;The accessibility of recreational facilities is generally poor;The lack of specialized services for the vulnerable groups in the park.Vulnerable groups of the park barrier-free toilet,barrier-free ramp,safety handrails along greater demand.The overall demand is mainly reflected in the convenience,safety and accessibility on;The barrier-free facilities in the entrance of the park of central city,road traffic,identification and information construction is more perfect,can basically meet the needs of vulnerable groups.In landscape architecture and construction,public facilities,such as the lack of construction of the entrance of the steps,the height of the pool,etc.,is not convenient for the use of vulnerable groups;Based on the theory of human engineering,environmental psychology,environmental behavior,and so on,according to the obstacles and needs of the vulnerable groups in the park,the paper puts forward some suggestions for improvement.First,improve the construction of barrier-free facilities,the construction of the barrier-free facilities;Second,according to the size and behavior characteristics of vulnerable groups,focusing on the size of barrier-free facilities,do not comply with the norms of reasonable transformation;Finally,the construction of the human nature of the barrier-free services to the public,to increase the accessibility of the construction of publicity,increase accessibility services,such as wheelchair rental,volunteer stations and so on.
