Research On Operation Efficiency Evaluation Of Automated Container Terminal

Automation and intelligence of terminals' operation has become an inevitable trend for the transformation and upgrade of ports in the future.The main indicator of the container terminal core competitiveness is the operation efficiency.With automated container terminals have been put into operation in several domestic ports,it is urgent to evaluate the operation efficiency changes attributed to the transformation and upgrade of container terminals and the path has been improved.It is significant to develop the evaluation of ports operation efficiency for the container terminals' automated development in china and the whole world.Firstly,this paper has analyzed the features of the automated terminals and the traditional ones and conducted researches on the operation efficiency of Container Terminals.Secondly,Based on the features of the Container Terminals' operation,the operation efficiency evaluation index system of automated container terminals with four first-level indexes and eighteen second-level indexes has been defined,which was implemented comprehensive analysis from four dimensions,namely berth efficiency,handling efficiency,yard operation efficiency and gate operation efficiency.Thirdly,to evaluate Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal's operation efficiency,the weight values of various indexes has been acquired by conducting field investigation and questionnaires.Finally,the evaluation value of automated operation efficiency of Ocean Gate Container Terminal is obtained by carrying out the empirical research on the efficiency of Ocean Gate Automated Container Terminal through the AHP-based fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The operation efficiency evaluation index system and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method got verified by evaluating the terminal's operation efficiency of the Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal and the data demonstrated that the terminal's operation efficiency and the economic benefits got improved remarkably though the running of the first fourth-generation automated devices in the world.Meanwhile,this paper has figured out some potential problems that affect the operation efficiency of container terminals based on the actual operation situation of Ocean Gate Container Terminal and puts forward some modified proposals.
