Snowfall in China is not heavy except some areas, snow plough and snow blades are generally used to clean snow, but both of them would leave residual snow by roadside, and increase workloads and cost by adding subsequent equipment to load and transport the residual snow. To solve such problem, a method of installing the rotary snow blower on the right side of the car to coordinate with other snow cleaning devices is presented in this paper.Design of the device's structure and necessary analysis are also carried out in this paper.In this paper, the development status of the rotary snow blower is introduced at first,the performance parameters of the throwing device at home are compared with the devices abroad,some domestic related research results are also introduced. According to the characteristics of snowfall in China,this paper put forward the overall design of the combined snow remover which is based on PY180 grader,including the design of rotary snow blower and the side-mounted structure.In this paper, design of the structures and calculation of parameters of the spiral snow collecting rotor and the snow throwing rotor are carried out. According to the correlation of the snow clearing efficiency of two rotors and traveling speed of the vehicle at different depth of snow, analysis of the relationship between the speeds of the rotor and the vehicle is carried in this paper, and the relation equation of the three velocities is obtained.Due to the side-installation of the blower, the scheme of the installation is determined and the structure is designed according to the stress characteristics of the side-mounted structure and the difficulty of controlling. Spatial location of the device in the folding process and the force of the hydraulic cylinder are analyzed by using the closed loop vector method.Folding process of the device is also planned.Stress of the supporting frame is analyzed and the structure is optimized in this paper. In order to ensure the reliability of the supporting structure, the spring buffer structure is set at the end of the hydraulic cylinder. Calculation of the buffer structure is also carried to verify the buffer effect of the impact force. Aiming at the probable influence to the vehicle stability caused by the side loading of the device, the possibility of listing at the vertical plane and the possibility of slipping at the horizontal plane are analyzed in this paper, and finally the maximum speed of vehicles is obtained.At last,ANSYS is used to analyze the structure of the rotors. In order to verify the realizability of the folding process, ADAMS is used to simulate the folding process. ADAMS is also used to make dynamic analysis of the obstacle negotiation process on snow throwing device to verify the inhibitory effect of spring and damping on the impact force and vibration.
