With the rapid development of economy and the progress of technology,large-scale steel structures are increasingly applied in engineering. With the advance of large-span construction, the structural system of steel structure is developing towards being new, complex and in large scale. In its construction process, filed hoisting and stitching are needed,so engineering monitoring technology is essential,it is the guarantee of quality and safety in the process of steel-structured engineering construction. This paper firstly analyzes and summarizes the method of large-span steel structure, and studies the composition of monitoring system and the role of monitoring technology in the construction process.By Combining with the construction of a large span steel structure ski project in the city and establishing the methods such as control network, axis control, level control in the basis as well as the techniques of transmitting and the investment side of the control points,It is obtained that displacement, settlement value, deflection value in the process of construction of steel structure.Through the use of wireless network monitoring technology and sensor technology,we can real-time online monitor the data of large span steel structure, analyze data timely, correct the torsion of steel column in the process of construction, dislocation and verticality deviation, which can provide a strong guarantee for subsequent stages. The construction monitoring value and design value in real time contrast, analysis, the possible danger in a timely warning, which can help to achieve scientific design, information construction management,to ensure the quality and safety of the project.
