The crimping terminal is widely used in various fields and the requirement of crimping terminal performance needs to be further improved with the rapid development of the automotive,aerospace,telecommunications and other industries.At present,the domestic research on crimping terminal is still in infancy,which has a big gap with the foreign countries.It is an urgent topic to research the technology and the reliability of crimping terminal.This thesis mainly researches the process,the factors affecting the quality and the reliability of crimping terminal.Firstly,the principle of crimping terminal is analyzed in theory.The process status of crimping terminal is researched overall and an advice is put forward to improve the process.Secondly,the main factors affecting the crimping terminal quality are analyzed and calculated theoretically.The factors include:①the terminal material,clad layer and design parameter;② the conductor material,the insulator material and the carrying capacity;③the die cutter height,width,thickness and other design parameters;④ the crimp height.Furthermore,the analysis model of crimping terminal is established using the finite element method.The crimping height,conductor material and die cutter width are simulated and analyzed in order to obtain the influence law that how the factors affect the crimping terminal based on this model.The last part work of the thesis is to make crimping terminal samples and research the mechanical,electrical and resistance corrosion performance of crimping terminal.Then the experimental results are compared with the previous theories and simulation analysis.The crimping terminal process and the influential factors are researched comprehensively in this thesis.A method that how to determine the parameters of crimping process is given,which solves the problem that the crimping height is often determined by experience and also provides significance guide of crimping terminal production.In this way,it can reduce the waste of samples,save the production costs and ensure the quality and reliability of crimping terminal.
