Diesel engines are widely used in ships,vehicels,generators,engineering construction agricultural machinery,etc.In order to guarantee the stable and reliable operation of the diesel engine,it is necessary to monitor the running status of the diesel engine in real time.With the rapid development of computer,communication and automation technologies,the monitoring system gradually tends to be modular,networked and intelligentized.More and more enterprises will integrate management technology,information technology and automation technology to achieve the CIMCS(Comput Integrate of Management & Control System).For the intelligent and networked demand of the diesel engine monitoring system,this paper has designed a monitoring system of diesel engine based on CAN bus and Ethernet communication technology.According to the function and position of measurement variables,the monitoring system can be devided into three parts: control board,coordination board and HMI(Human Machine Interface)board.The communication between the three parts is realized by CAN bus,the communication between the diesel engines is realized by CAN bus and the communication between the diesel engine and the hose computer is based on the industrial Ethernet.The main contents of this paper are summarized as follows:(1)This paper analyzes the requirements of the monitoring system,then put forward the overall design of the monitoring system,including the overall design of the hardware and the overall design of the communication network.In the overall design,the diesel engine node of the monitoring system can be divided into three parts:control board,coordination board and Human Machine Interface(HMI)board.(2)According to the overall hardware design of the system,using STM32F407 as MCU,the hardware circuit of three boards is designed and debugged.The hardware circuit consists of digitial input circuit,analog input circuit,relay output circuit,analog voltage output circuit,display circuit and so on.In addition,we also designed the CAN bus and Ethernet interfacea for data exchange.(3)According to the overall communication network scheme of the system,referring to the SAE J1939 protocol,we have designed the system software structure and the tasks of monitoring system and described the design of the speed acquisition task,the speed control task,the analog acquisition task,the grid control task,and the grid coordination task in detail.(5)Finally,according to the requirements of the monitoring system,the function of the monitoring system is tested and analyzed.Each module of the system works properly and the design of system is reasonable.Based on CAN bus and Ethernet communication technology,this paper has put forward a design of monitoring system for diesel engine.By the experiment and analysis,the real-time monitoring of the diesel engine has been realized and the intelligent and networked demand has been met.
