Study On Conservation And Reuse Of Industrial Heritage

With the development of social economy and the trend of retreat into three in the urban space,the cultural memory and history memory and nostalgic feelings in the urban industrial area are important parts of urban growth process,and the problem of conservation and reuse of abandoned old industrial district within the city is getting more and more attention.Through the relevant theoretical study of domestic and foreign industrial heritage conservation,combined with field investigation,this paper will discuss the industrial heritage conservation methods and development modes in XING FU Road District in Xi‘an.Through the study of existing industrial heritage conservation theory,this paper states that under the multiple values of industrial heritage,how to making the classified evaluation on the basis of value factors.Draw lessons from two industrial heritage conservation practices,the North Duisburg Landscape Park and the Northwest First Dyeing Factory,putting forward core contents of industrial heritage conservation and redevelopment.According to sum up the development progress of Xi‘an industry and XING FU Road District,based on large numbers of fieldtrip researches,this paper analyses and concludes the existing problems of current industrial heritage in Xi‘an XING FU Road District,including production decline,destroyed factory layout,excessive building refurbishment and damage,and difficulties in conservation.The fundamental reason is that its value is not recognized by mainstream society because of the recession of economy and environment.It has formed a vicious circle so that protection work is hard.The interpretation of relevant plans clarify the industrial heritage conservation and reuse principles in XING FU Road District as follows: principles of historical authenticity as well as heritage landscape integrality;principles of heritage conservation within overall urban development;principles of grading and classifying conservation;principles of combination of conservation and use.The strategies of conservation and reuse could be listed as follows: following rules of urban spatial development to explore coherence points of industrial heritage and urban renewal;finding values of industrial heritage culture to establish industrial heritage conservation systems;improving conservation mechanism to carry out industrial heritage census;Optimizing conservation measures to achieve the combination of ?economic,social and environmental‘ three kinds of benefits;coordinating late implementation to ensure the synchronous development of conservation and coordination.Based on the principles and strategies of conservation and reuse,this paper could build the industrial heritage conservation framework in XING FU Road District.Defining Value evaluation factors on the basis of conservation framework,this paper could build industrial heritage conservation database in XING FU Road District,determine function transformation,rebuilding and expansion,spatial restructuring,streamline organization,old and new fusion as the core of conservation and reuse methods,select representative and high value industrial heritage building conservation and reuse practices,such as Northwest Photoelectric Instrument Factory and Huashan Machinery,finally put forward the industrial heritage conservation and reuse planning of XING FU Road District,and formulate the corresponding implementation mechanism and safeguard measures.
