Students' Living Space Study And Improved Design In Shenzhen University Town

Students' living space as physical place for students to study and live in,is an important factor in shaping students' behavior,to which more attention need to be paid.Shenzhen University Town consists of three graduate schools of Tsinghua University(THUsz),Peking University(PKUsz)and Harbin Institute of Technology(HITsz).It is continued to explore and improve the development from scratch.There are problems on the students' living space in Shenzhen University Town to be solved for situation optimization.From users' perspective,this work focuses on Shenzhen University Town.Gehl's Public Space & Public Life Survey—PSPL survey method was used to investigate the students' living spaces of HITsz and PKUsz,as well as behaviors and activities of the students.In this work,daily behavior of college students was summarized and internal relations between space quality and behavior activities were analyzed.In order to solve the problems of space quality,it puts forward the optimization design conception to improve the quality of students' life.This case-by-case research system for the plan of campus space optimization design has reference significance.The framework of this work is to set up according to the thought of discovering problem-method research-problem research-analysis cause – solution.The relationship between space quality and behavior activity is demonstrated using theory of communication space,environmental psychology and landscape design.Based on the traditional PSPL research method,this work combines with the latest scientific and technological method to optimize the traditional PSPL survey method such as heat map,GIS,Excel,Stata and so on.The PSPL research system of students' living space is constructed,which is refinement and innovation of research methods.Moreover,this work summarizes spatial and behavioral patterns of students and material space elements influencing behavioral activities.It also analyzes the problems of traffic environment,spatial composition and landscape l ayout of students' living space in HITsz and puts forward the corresponding optimized design scheme to improve the quality of students' living space.
