Optimization Strategies Of Interior Space Of University Town Library In Shenzhen Based On Spatial Perception And Behavior

The interior environment of some current university libraries neglects users’ psychological needs and behavior analysis.Based on the compromise model theory in the field of environmental psychology,which shows that there are complex relationships among environment,users’ perception and behavior.This paper tries to sorts out the influence of university library interior space on users’ perception and behavior,and constructs a system of methodologies based on the relationship among the environment,users’ perception and behavior and applies it on the interior space of University Town Library in Shenzhen.Firstly,this paper puts forward the relevant spatial indicators(including space height,space color,etc),and users’ perception indicators(including perception of spacious,perception of openness,etc),and behavioral indicators(including reading,socializing,exploring,etc),and then establishes an evaluation index system composed with 4 spatial indicators,5 users’ perception indicators and 4 behavioral indicators.Secondly,this paper sets up the interior model of entrance region,information retrieval center,reading area,public activity area by the virtual reality technology in the lab,and University Town Library in Shenzhen is as the research subject.Thirdly,30 participants are expected to experience the virtual environment and evaluate their perception and behaviors by the questionnaires.The correlation analysis among environment,users’ perception and behavior,and rank of influence degree of each indicator are analyzed by SPSS software.Finally,this paper will find how different spatial indicators affect users’ single spatial perception,overall perception satisfaction and behaviors of University Town Library in Shenzhen,and answer the influence of university library interior space on users’ perception and behavior,which is sorted out by the compromise model theory.According to the above analysis,this paper will put forward the optimization strategies of interior space of University Town Library in Shenzhen.Through quantitative and qualitative analysis,the research results will demonstrate the superiority of virtual reality technology in the field of architectural space and promote the relevant study on the people-environment relations in the interior space of university libraries.
