| Plenty of ventilation and heat insulation techniques which adapt to local climate have accumulated with the development of Guangzhou dwelling.Nowadays, sustainable development is the basic requirement of Chinese scientific development concept.Being energy saving and environment friendly will be the features of future architecture. With the principle of being green,low-carbon,environment friendly and sustainable, applying precious historical techniques to modern dwelling design is a vital significant urgent topic. In the first place, this thesis analyses natural and geographical characteristics of Guangzhou district as well as the historical development of Guangzhou dwelling, carrying a great number of real examples,in which we can see what techniques the dwellers use to ensureventilation and heat insulation. As for ventilation,it uses PKPM(a architecture ventilation software)to display how traditional Guangzhou dwellings adapt to local climate. What’s following,it analyses the layout and plans of several modern dwellings, discusses about their successes and shortcomings in applying traditional techniques and makes some suggestions for improvements with PKPM offering data.As for heat insulation,it uses some diagrams to show some effective methods of several modern dwellings and discusses about how we can make use of the experiences of traditional Guangzhou dwellings. This thesis consists of five parts. In Introduction,it states relative researches of Guangzhou dwellings and the significance of the topic. In the second part,it displays ventilation and heat insulation features and climate adaption features of Guangzhou dwellings by summarizing some specific methods. In the third part,it analyses the ventilation and heat insulation techniques by calculating. In the fourth part,it focuses on how to apply the traditional ventilation techniques to modern design, using some specific cases. In the fifth part,it focuses on heat insulation techniques, putting forward some improvement suggestions for modern design according to traditional techniques. |
