The Research On The Renewal Strategy Of Ayidun Historic District Based On The Typo-morphological Approach

Most of chinese cities have a long history,which many historic districts distribute in.These historic districts embody the regional characteistics of the material space and social life.However,with the process of globalization and urban consruction accelerates,the characteristics of historic districts are gradually disappearing.The Ayidun district is one of the most distinctive districts in Yining.With the development of Yining in the centuries,multi-ethnic culture here,just like the Islamic,Uygur,Russian and Han,interacts and become integration,and Ayidun still maintains a complete special pattern and reginal traditions.However,the traditional characteristics of Ayidun are declining because of the houses,infrastructures' s aging,and the functional recession.Typo-morphological approach used in this paper combines the conceptual and structural research framework of Urban Morphology,and processional concept of Architectural Typology.The new approach not only highly valued the historical characteristics of the city during the process of analysis,but its research results can also be fully applied to the urban planning,as design suggesstions.First of all,this paper analyzes the research contents,approach and research elements of Urban Morphology and Architectural Typology,and the research elements and results of Typo-morphology approach.Then,it adjusts the new approach based on the practice cases,existing historical files and background about the society and economy.Secondly,this paper uses the new approach after adjusted to analyze the seven elements,which including street system,street,block,plot,public space,arrangement of building and building form in three periods,before 1949,1950-1978 and from 1979 to now.There are several types and type process of each elements will be analyzed according to the imformations about society,economy,culture and so on.The evolutionary processes and laws can also be summarized.Thirdly,there are design suggestions concering the seven elements formed based on the research results above.The conservation and renewal of Ayidun will be planned according to these design suggestion.Finally,four research results,types,evolutionary processes and laws,design suggestions of the seven elements and the renewal plan will be got.Through this case study,the keys of typo-morphological approach and its advanced role of interpretation about the origin and development of form can be revealed.
