A Study On The Buddhist Space In The Gongzhu Temple In Fanshi County Of Shanxi Province

Buddhism originated in India,in the process of communication in China,and continue to integrate with the Chinese culture and rapid development,as part of Chinese culture.Gongzhu Temple,located in the main village of Fanshi County,is one of the Wutai mountains outside the nine Temple,was built by the emperor of Beiwei Dynasty for his daughter,princess Xincheng.Wutai Mountain is the monastery of Manjusri,ranking the head of the four largest Buddhist shrine and is a typical representative of the northern Buddhist culture.Fanshi county is not so far from the Wutai Mountain,north of Hengshan Mountains,south of Mount Wutai,there are Chantuo River through the whole territory,the superior geographical conditions for the creation of a buddhist temple provides an excellent natural conditions.Gongzhu Temple from the architectural layout of outer space,to the internalspace of the sculptures and murals inside build,and the two-dimensional space reflected by the mural,have a high artistic value,at the same time,Gongzhu Temple is a reflection of the social ideology,and it is necessary to study it.In addition to the introduction,this paper mainly studies the Buddhist space of Gongzhu Temple from five aspects.The first part of this paper introduces the general situation of the Gongzhu Temple,mainly from the history,geographical location and existing situation in three aspects;The second part of this paper analyzes the outer space form of the Gongzhu temple,including the facade form of the single building,the organization of architectural forms and spatial sequences.The third part is to study the space of the two main halls in Gongzhu temple,the Dafo hall and the Pilu hall,to explore the relationship between the layout of the interior space and worship and religious atmosphere.The fourth part of this paper focuses on the mural of Dafo hall,the space of mural is analyzed by composition of murals and exploring the relationship between mural and architectural space.The fifth part analysis all the factors that influence Buddhist space of Gongzhu temple.It is hoped that through the study of the form of the Gongzhu temple,the paper discusses the expression of Buddhist space of Chinese Buddhist temple in the specific cultural background.
