In the context of globalization,from a certain perspective,the development of motorized is shocking.The problems caused by the process of advanced motorization of cities in western lead to the domestic awareness of the importance of the choice of motorization development mode.Driven by globalization,motorization in China is growing rapidly,however,not as advanced as that of cities in European and American countries.The result is that,in China,pedestrian and bicycle transportation still prevails.Therefore,at present,China is at the crossroads of the selection of motorization mode.To avoid disorderly development of motorization that occurred in western countries,the correct path is to develop pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the basis of proper promotion of motorization.The development of motorization in China has caused a series of urban problems,especially the pedestrian and bicycle traffic pedestrian network is eroded by motorization.In order to change the direction of motorization through developing pedestrian and bicycle traffic,it is very important to evaluate and research through repair and design the existing pedestrian network.In addition,under the background of "urban repair" concept,the slow-guided pedestrian network repairing is suitable for the urban repair work,and fits the domestic urban development trend in the coming years.This study explores the qualitative and quantitative research methods for the evaluation of pedestrian network form within pedestrian and bicycle unit(walking and cycling),and also specifically provides a feasible design research strategy for repairing pedestrian network.A single urban pedestrian and bicycle traffic unit is the maximum range and the basic unit of pedestrian and bicycle traffic(walking and cycling).But walking is the most basic travel mode within such unit,to the extent that almost any other travel modes can be achieved in combination with walking.Therefore,the evaluation of "walkability" of the pedestrian network on pedestrian and bicycle unit scale forms the basis for repairing and designing the pedestrian network.Firstly,the evaluation model of pedestrian network is constructed,including the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of pedestrian network.The qualitative evaluation of walking network is based on the record and evaluation of the researchers’ field survey,which involves real experiences and personal participation that can not be replaced by quantitative evaluation and can be attributed to "human nature",and there is some error in comprehensiveness and objectivity.Therefore,quantitative evaluation is more important,as it is the method to make up the subjective inaccuracy caused by qualitative evaluation.In the quantitative evaluation,according to the basic research,the evaluation system of "walkability" of pedestrian network is established,which is divided into target layer,criterion layer,measure layer and reference layer.Three evaluation criteria of criterion layer are pedestrian network connectivity,walking efficiency and reachability,corresponding to five measuring indexes,namely pedestrian network density,contact node ratio,pedestrian route directness,daily facilities accessibility and open space accessibility.The evaluation standard corresponding to the measuring index generates the result from case analysis by means of comparing cases selected.Then,I select the pedestrian and bicycle unit of Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town as the study case,and conduct the evaluation of field research and the evaluation of factor index.For producing the basic data for the factor index evaluation of pedestrian network,the current situation of pedestrian network is sorted out through the field research and verified and adjusted based on Baidu Map database.On the other hand,the current situation and shortcomings of pedestrian network is recorded and evaluated.The evaluation of factor index,based on the evaluation model,uses ArcGIS as the technical platform and Baidu database as a date source to establish the complete calculation process,and to achieve the data calculation and visible results.Finally the results are assessed by research evaluation and comprehensive evaluation results of factor index evaluation.Finally,according to the results of pedestrian network evaluation,the pedestrian network is repaired and designed.The paper puts forward the specific repair strategy to be used to repair and design the pedestrian network of pedestrian and bicycle unit in Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town.Then the acupuncture-kind repair is carried out according to the evaluation results.The results of the empirical study are taken as the scientific basis for the repair urban planning design.Finally,the overall design scheme and the node design scheme of the pedestrian network are proposed,and the design scheme is validated by the quantitative evaluation model,and the results are contrasted.It proves the applicability and scientificity of the evaluation model,and puts forward the possible and development direction of the pedestrian network repair design,which embodies the research value of the pedestrian network evaluation and repair design.
