Permanent observation system of bridge structure is an important means of ensuring the safety of bridge service.The highway bridge and culvert maintenance standard of our country(JTG H11-2004),the highway bridge maintenance and management system([2007]336,Documents issued by the Department of Highways Department of the Ministry of Communications),and bridge maintenance management at the provincial level specification or document all stated that : in the large and medium-sized bridges should be set up permanent settlement observation system.However,above specifications or files only made simple qualitative rules on highway extra-large bridge or large bridge permanent observation points,did not give specific requirements of the permanent observation system settings for common large,medium and small beam bridge and continuous girder bridge on highway,such as measuring points locations,layout method,observation method,observation contents and so on in different types of bridge,and different observation projects,also did not provide how to use the various observation data to assess bridge technique conditions,guide the custody of the bridge,give the maintenance advice.Meanwhile,the domestic research on bridge maintenance work mostly focus on longspan bridges and special bridge structure health monitoring,such as Su-Tong bridge and the Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong.Theoretical research and application on permanent observation system is still very inadequate for China's large amount and wide range of prefabricated bridges.Research on this field has much engineering practical value and social significance.Therefore,combined with highway maintenance work,to compensate for the specifications on permanent observation system settings,this paper carried on the comprehensive research on bridges permanent observation system.First of all,extended highway bridges permanent observation system content,and selected the appropriate principles and methods of optimal arrangements of measured points according to different content.By theoretical calculation according to the characteristics of common bridge(simply-supported girder bridge,the multi-span continuous girder bridge),a preliminary theoretical framework for the permanent observation system of bridge structures is established.Secondly,according to the research results of the optimal placement of permanent observation points,combined with the existing standards and specifications,this paper gives a complete set of observation system and operating standard documents,forming a complete set of observation system and operation specification file.The detailed rules for the implementation of the design of the bridge,the arrangement of the measuring points,the processing of the observation data,the evaluation of the technical condition of the bridge and the bridge maintenance are given.Finally,according to the detailed rules for the implementation of permanent observation system,taking account for the actual situation of "Rong-Wu" highway bridge,the permanent observation points were taken classified arrangement and regular observations,the data were processed and filed,and the suggestion on bridge maintenance were given.The research results of this paper provide reliable data and scientific basis for the establishment of bridge health archives,understanding and mastering the actual working condition of bridge structure,ensuring the safe operation of bridge,guiding bridge maintenance and maintenance.
