At present more and more domestic large units in grid connected operation,construction and operation of power system in UHV power network is composed of backbone network,network structure at present in our country has greatly improved,greatly improving the ability of reactive power compensation.Power station is the largest reactive power supply in the whole power system.In recent years,large capacity units have been put into operation as well as grid voltage has been significantly improved.Voltage is an important factor to ensure the stability and economy of large power grid,and it is also an important index to evaluate the power quality of power grid.Effective control of reactive power and voltage can reduce the network loss,improve the stability and security of power system operation,and then improve the economic benefits of power grid.Automatic voltage control system(AVC)is an important means to control reactive power and voltage.The application of automatic voltage control technology and the Longtan hydroelectric power plant AVC combination of in-depth research and analysis,established the design scheme of Longtan hydroelectric power plant AVC,and through the establishment of strict testing procedure of AVC system of Longtan Hydropower Plant in the testing of the whole process,through rational design of the test process and test target,completed a comprehensive test of Longtan Power Plant,the South China Power Grid certification,successfully put into commercial operation,AVC system can effectively improve the voltage regulation accuracy of Longtan Power Plant to reduce the power loss,reduce the work intensity of operating personnel,achieved good economic and social benefits.
